Columbia, Mo Tigers Community Credit Union praises employees, members and the community for the success of its “CU Give: Veterans Appreciation Drive,” held throughout July benefiting Welcome Home, a local non-profit organization dedicated to empowering homeless and at-risk Veterans. The purpose of the drive was to provide needed donation items, raise funds and bring heightened awareness for Welcome Home. In addition to their veteran-only transitional living program, Welcome Home offers wrap-around services aimed toward helping homeless and at-risk Veterans reintegrate into society as productive, self-supporting citizens
In addition to the items collected, Tigers Community Credit Union donated $1,000 from its corporate Denim for Dollars program to further support Welcome Home’s mission and provide essential services and resources to Veterans in need.
“Welcome Home is a community for Veterans, and we couldn’t serve these deserving families without our community’s support,” said Michelle Vogt, Development Director at Welcome Home. “By supporting our mission to honor Veterans by restoring their lives, each of you is contributing to Welcome Home’s vision to end Veteran homelessness. We won’t rest until we do. Thank you for your generosity and involvement. You are making a difference.”
“This donation drive is a fundamental part of our ongoing commitment to support and strengthen our community,” stated Lori Hudson, Tigers Community’s Community Engagement Manager. “We are deeply grateful to those who contributed to this important cause and are proud to be a partner of this great organization.”
