Tigers Community Credit Union Partners with Sustain Mizzou to Promote Low-Waste Living

Columbia, MO – In celebration of Earth Month, Tigers Community Credit Union hosted a sustainability event to promote the student-led organization, Sustain Mizzou, which focuses on sustainability education at the University of Missouri. Students and faculty were invited to engage and learn about Sustain Mizzou’s efforts to foster eco-friendly practices on campus and beyond.

Staffed by a credit union representative and two student directors, the table featured giveaways of reusable metal straws donated by Tigers Community. Additionally, the credit union made a $500 donation to support Sustain Mizzou’s impactful initiatives.

“It was such a pleasure to be at this event alongside the Sustain Mizzou team, who share our passion for creating a healthier planet,” stated Ashley Scroggins, Tigers Community Credit Union Graphic Design and New Media Specialist. “We were thrilled to see such an enthusiastic response to our Earth Month event. Distributing 200 reusable metal straws is a small step towards a sustainable campus. Together, we can make a significant difference!”

“We are so appreciative of our community partners, such as Tigers Community Credit Union, who help support and promote sustainability initiatives and programs at the University of Missouri. Sustain Mizzou celebrated Earth Month this April, and we were excited to continue our efforts to reduce plastic waste by teaming up with TCCU to distribute reusable items to students,” stated Emma Parry, Sustain Mizzou Student Director. “Partnerships like this help us turn everyday actions into lasting impact, and we’re proud to keep building a more sustainable Mizzou together.”
