People Helping People: A Look Back on the 2024 All Staff Day of Service

In a show of commitment to community support, Tigers Community Credit Union utilized the closing of all of its branches on a federal holiday to assemble our entire staff for a day of service. The 2024 CU Volunteer Day of Service brought together a total of 110 employees who contributed their time to various projects for ten local non-profit organizations in St Louis and Columbia.

@tigerscu Happy International Credit Union Day! We think that nothing exemplifies the main cooperative principle of "People Helping People" more than our recent CU Volunteer Day. You may have noticed that we were closed on Monday for Columbus Day, but we are so proud of our entire staff who still put in the work to serve our communities! Our main mission as an organization is to serve our Members and help our communities thrive. And THAT is the credit union difference. #ICUDay #CommittedToTheCommunity #CUgiveback #LivingOurValues ♬ Summer Energy – DJ Ariane Prod

Lori Hudson, Community Engagement Manager for the Credit Union, expressed, “Our annual All-Staff Volunteer Day shows our dedication to making a positive impact in the communities we serve. This initiative not only benefits the organizations we partner with but also offers our employees a fulfilling opportunity to assist those in need.”

Beyond the CU Volunteer Day of Service, Tigers Community encourages ongoing volunteerism through a corporate program that allows employees to engage in volunteer activities throughout the year, even during work hours. So far in 2024, the staff has collectively volunteered over 900 hours at partner organizations. The credit union’s mission emphasizes the importance of fostering community well-being and supporting the neighborhoods where its members live, work, and bank.
