Columbia, Mo – Tigers Community Credit Union hosted a Mizzou campus event to raise awareness for the Tiger Pantry, a student run organization that provides food resources and education to members of the University of Missouri family and University of Missouri Healthcare workers in need.
On Thursday, November 16, Tigers Community Credit Union employees distributed non-perishable food items to students at the Mizzou Student Center as part of their #CUfeedMU to spread awareness of Tiger Pantry and their programs. “There was a tremendous response from the students, and we are grateful to be able to help spread awareness for this great organization that is run by students who are committed to helping Columbia thrive,” said Stephanie Tyler, Community and Business Development Representative.
In addition to the social media blitz, Tigers Community Credit Union presented a $500 donation to the pantry. “Without donations and support from organizations like Tigers Community Credit Union, we would not be able to provide the capacity of services needed by our community,” said Lindsey Linkous, Director – Tiger Pantry and Truman’s Closet. “We are so grateful for Tigers Community being a loyal partner to Tiger Pantry and helping us fight food insecurity on campus.”
Tiger Food Pantry provides food resources and education to members of the University of Missouri family and University of Missouri Health Care workers in need while exemplifying the University’s four core values of Respect, Responsibility, Discovery, and Excellence. Each month, more than 400 households receive fresh produce, nonperishable food items and personal hygiene care items.
