Columbia, Mo. – Community giving is in full swing at Tigers Community Credit Union with The Great Employee Philanthropy Takeover! This fully launched community outreach initiative invites the credit union’s employees to nominate their favorite local non-profit organizations to be the recipient of a cash donation dispersed throughout the year.
The donations takeover is part of the credit union’s Mission to give back to its communities and help them thrive. Tigers Community donates both time and money to help make their community a better place to live, work, play and bank. On average, employees collaboratively volunteer over 1,000 hours annually with local non-profit organizations.
“Due to the recent pandemic, the credit union has been unable to support the community with our usual hands-on and in-person volunteer approach,” said Lori Hudson, Community Outreach Manager. “This inspired us to develop ‘The Takeover’ where the staff can still make a difference by contributing to the community.”
To date, Tigers Community employees have nominated over 25 organizations and have awarded $12,000 towards The Takeover’s $24,000 annual giving goal.
Awarded donation recipients are:
True North of Columbia, Youth in Need, Central Missouri Humane Society, City of Refuge, Hope Food Pantry, Missouri K9 Friends, PFLAG, Friends of the Pet Adoption Center, Day Dreams Foundation, Urban League of STL, The Women’s Safe House and the Alzheimer’s Association.
